A benefit is being held for Dave Mazurowski, a local volunteer firefighter
awaiting a kidney transplant. For the past 21/2 years he has been on kidney
dialysis. To help with the medical bills and expenses he will face immediately
after surgery, please join Dave\\\'s family, friends, brother & sister firefighters
for a benefit to help aid in his recovery from this life saving procedure.

A $5.00 admission includes free beer, soft drinks, snacks and a Delicious Roast Beef Sandwich as well as a free chance to take home a nice Door Prize.
A Char-Broil Stainless Steel Grass Grill will be raffled that evening as well.
The Meat Raffle features beautiful CHOICE cuts of beef; pork, poultry and seafood with a different variety of other complimentary additions to the menu.
Doors open at 6:00 PM and the Wheel starts spinning at 7:00.

Battle At The Post

Championship Amateur Boxing comes to the Buffalo area on Saturday night, May 17th at 7pm with a minimum12 bout night of great USA Boxing sanctioned fights. Presented by former 1960’s champ Jimmy Ralston and the Olympia Boxing Club, the event is being held at the VFW Leonard Post on Walden Avenue just north of Union. Touted as the “Battle at the Post”, and featuring the \"Clash of the Heavyweights\" this is the 2nd event at the Post this year. Every show is a near sell out and the last one was standing room only.
With notable names like Malik “The Lion” Blyden, Darell “The Hitman” Nati and Lamont “The Brown Bomber” Johnson, Jimmy and his team bring in a great variety of boxers from junior contenders all the way to the hard hitting heavy weight class. Women fighters are also featured with 2008 Golden Glove Champion Chantel Weir and 2008 NYS National Silver Medal Champion and Golden Gloves Champion from the University of Buffalo, a local favorite, Wendy Casey. We always have professional announcers, special guests and we even have Beautiful Rings Girls to announce the rounds. This exciting event is open to all ages so the young boxing fans are always welcome with an adult.
Tickets are available in advance for $15 and $20 at the door the night of the event. Refreshments will be available. Seats are limited so come early.

Spring Concert

The Trinity UMC Music Department will perform their Spring Concert, “Soon-ah Will Be Done” at 7 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road. The concert will feature the Chancel Choir, Orchestra, Tollers, Beaus, Belles, and Sweet Harmony, under the direction of James Welch and Accompanist Dennis Overholt. A free-will offering will be taken during the concert to benefit The Grand Piano Fund, and church apportionments. Home-made desserts will be enjoyed by all concert-goers at a reception following the concert.
The public is also invited to an optional pizza dinner at 6 p.m. prior to the show. The dinner includes pizza, salad bar and a beverage. A $5 donation is appreciated. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Trinity’s youth work camp program.
The entire community is encouraged to attend this inspirational program featuring sacred and secular music.
